Wasps

Through out August and September there will be wasps about.
This is the period that wasp larvae hatch. These larvae require sugar so the wasps will be attracted by anything sweet including fruit.
The Efteling makes every effort to prevent wasps from becoming a problem but their presence remains a fact of life in the summertime.
Every little bit helps, so if you, as guests could refrain from eating sweet foods in the queues and disposing of unwanted leftovers in closed bins rather than the open baskets, it will help keep them at bay.
If you do get stung, wash the stung area with soap and water to remove as much of the venom as possible.
Carefully remove the stinger if it has remained.
Apply a cold pack to the wound site to reduce swelling and pain.
A member of staff may be able to provide you with an ice pack.
Keep the wound clean and dry to prevent infection and cover with a bandage.
Avoid scratching the area and apply a soothing lotion if the itching is bothersome.
