Boat or Car + Boat
Hull - Rotterdam
Rotterdam is roughly 1hrs and a half drive from the Efteling Or if you are a pedestrian, take a shuttle bus from the harbor to Rotterdam train station, then a train from Rotterdam to Tilburg and a direct Arriva bus (Bus 801) from Tilburg to the Efteling Or a train from Rotterdam to Breda then a direct Arriva bus (Bus 802) from Breda to the Efteling |
Harwich - Hoek Van Holland
Drive onto the boat and drive to the Efteling from Hook Of Holland. We would not recommend travelling from Hook of Holland without a car as it involves many trains and busses. |

Newcastle - Amsterdam (Amsterdam is roughly 3hrs drive from the Efteling only 1 hr if you take the train)
If you have decided to take the DFDS ferry from Newcastle, you will need to make your way to Efteling from Amsterdam Central. A DFDS bus will take you from the ferry to the centre of Amsterdam free of charge, from here you will need to enter the Central Station (you can’t miss it). From here the same rules apply as above, you need to get to Tilburg and then take the bus from Tilburg to Efteling.
Now the boring part is over, you have arrived! So here we will assume that you are staying at the Efteling Hotel or the new holiday village, Bosrijk.
To get to Bosrijk: Once you have been dropped off by the bus, you will see the House of the Five Senses in front of you, something else which is hard to miss. There is a small subway in between the bus stops, you need to go under there and keep walking up the long walkway to the entrance. Instead of going straight through the House of the Five Senses, (I know it is tempting!) you need to turn right, along a small path. Follow the path and you will find yourself at Bosrijk!
To get to the Efteling Hotel: this has been made slightly trickier with the changes to the bus routes, but here goes…You need to take the 300 bus from ‘s-Hertogenbosch, not Tilburg. If you get the 137 from Tilburg it will travel straight past the hotel and on to Bosrijk. The 300 currently runs 4 times an hour throughout the day but not on evenings, 2 times an hour on a Saturday, and not at all on a Sunday. Alternatively you could travel to Tilburg as mentioned above and get a taxi to the hotel, which shouldn’t cost too much. You will get off the bus at Horst, Kaatsheuvel, which is across the road from the hotel. Here is a more detailed look at the bus service.
Please note that all information is currently correct, however I do advise that you research into travel yourself also, to avoid any problems.
