The Raveleijn show is a live action open air theatre show with horses. The story of Raveleijn revolves around 5 children who are called to an ancient gate in the woods. When they pass through they find themselves all grown up and riding horses. The woman named Halina who called them through calls upon them for help in defeating their evil ruler. They are gifted special weapons which help them control the elements and eventually do battle with the evil ruler Olaf, his henchman and his creature Draconicon. The show is based on the book written for the Efteling by Paul Van Loon and the subsequent TV series. The show is in the Dutch language however there may be audioboxes available with an English translation for you to use if you provide a € 5 deposit which will be returned upon return of the audiobox.

Halina: ‘Go, ravens and bring the five to Raveleijn, where ravens will be riders.’ *The riders make their entrance* Halina: ‘Thank you for coming. Welcome to the city Raveleijn my name is Halina. I've sent my special ravens to come and bring you’ Thomas: ‘Why are we here?’ Halina: ‘I need to protect this beautiful city from the evil count Olaf. There will be a day where I will need you, the five of Raveleijn. Today you will learn everything so that you will be ready to protect us when the time is there. I have asked two of my best guild masters to help you.’ *Guild masters entrance* Halina: ‘These are the best fighters and instructors of the county. First they will teach you all the skills required for horse riding.’ *Claps* Halina: ‘very good! You showed that you're agile. Now show me if you're brave enough to test the strength and speed of your horses?’ *Even more claps.* Halina: ‘great job my friends, now you are going to learn how to fight. Erik, go down to teach our heroes the art of sword fighting.’ *Sword fighting.* Halina: ‘Good, you're fast learners! But are you also able to defeat the guild masters?’ Thomas: ‘Come on, let's work together! Then we’re sure to succeed!’ *Battle between the guild masters and the riders* Halina: ‘Well done my friends! You control the skills of horse riding and sword fighting. And even more importantly you understand the foundation. Strength and courage are worth nothing without trust and cooperation. You also each have your own weapon. Only you, the five of chosen riders can use them. Every weapon stands for an element and gives you, your own unique power. Emma, your weapon is the metal disk. Iron has no secrets for you Maurits, your element is wood. Your magic crossbow never misses and is as strong as the roots of a tree.’ *Literally shoots a guy* ‘Lisa, your shell sword doesn't know any equal. It gives you power over water. Thomas, you are the fiery rider. With this sword, you will master the fire. And you can lead the unity of the elements. Joost, you receive the double dagger. With this weapon you can shake the earth.’ Joost: ‘kickuh! Wake up you big lizard’ Halina: ‘What did you do? Young fool you've woken the evil! Look! A falcon, Olaf's cursed bird. This is a bad sign!’ *Dramatic entrance.* Olaf: ‘ Hahaha. Hahaha poor Halina. You are nothing compared to me. Guards, lock her up. Your "friends" are no match for my power.’ *Battle* Olaf: ‘Hahaha did you really think that you could do anything at all against my power? With my Draconicon I will do anything to keep Raveleijn in my power. Fly, before it's too late. Poor fools’ *Draconicons entrance.* Thomas: ‘Now it's our turn! Don't forget what Halina told us! We need to combine our strengths! Maurits, Joost, Emma, Lisa. Surround the dragon!’ *Epic element fighting* Thomas: ‘And now all together. Wait for my sign............. Now!’ *The elements fight* Olaf: ‘Noooooooooo!’ *Halina reappears* Halina: ‘There's no place for your anger and jealousy in our beautiful city of Raveleijn. These fearless young Heroes have defeated you, we have defeated you!’ *Olaf pyjama time!* *Riders make their last entrance* Halina: ‘By trusting in each other and combining your strengths you've defeated Count Olaf and his Draconicon. The city of Raveleijn has been freed! Thank you for your guts and effort, heroes of Raveleijn. If I should ever need you again I will send my ravens to bring you.’ Thomas: ‘Halina, thank you for your trust, you can always count on us!’ Halina: ‘Get home safe, friends of Raveleijn’ |

Legend
Thomas, Joost, their brother Maurits and their twin sisters Emma and Lisa appear to be very ordinary children.. until Joost discovers a gateway and leads them to it. When they go through the gateway they find themselves in the magical city Raveleijn. To their surprise they grow into fully grown up horse riders. According to ancient prophecies they have an important mission . They must free Raveleijn and its inhabitants of their evil ruler Graaf Olaf Grafhart. The five brothers and sisters have each other, they have their horses and special weapons and enough courage to go to battle with the enemies they face on the way. But how will they be able to master the magic powers required to defeat Olaf Grafhart? And the even greater terror that awaits them? |
