Distance from the park
🏃♀️Distance wise The Efteling Grand Hotel is just inside the park boundaries, you can’t get any closer. After that technically the Efteling Wonder Hotel is closest to the park because it has its own entrance. (Though it does mean entering through the hellscape that is Kleuterhof as your first experience of the park)🤡 However if you're wanting to see Aquanura or CARO at the end of the day you actually end up a lot further from your accommodation than you would be if you were staying at Loonsche Land or Bosrijk. Technically Loonsche Land is a bit further than Bosrijk but the difference is minor depending on wherabouts you're staying on the grounds. Check out the pictures on the Efteling website and some of the videos you can find on line and you'll be able to decide for yourself what you like best. |
Self Catering
If you require self catering facilities both Bosrijk and Loonsche Land have holiday homes 🏡
I believe they all have an induction hob, combination microwave oven, fridge, kettle, coffee maker, dishwasher.
But at Loonsche Land you have to make your own bed with the bed linen provided while at Bosrijk the beds are made up for you before you arrive.
And again Loonsche Land often use curtains instead of doors🚪. Loonsche Land have showers 🚿 while Bosrijk have over bath showers 🛁and in some accommedations seperate showers as well as the bath.

Early Access
|
Note that anyone can enter the park 1 hour before the park officially opens and have access to the Pardoes Promenade, Fabula Savannebar, De Gebrande Boon and the gift shop 🎁 at the entrance but only people who stay at Efteling accommodation get access to some rides 🎢 half an hour before the park officially opens.
To reach these 🎢rides guests of Loonsche Land and Bosrijk must take a special route around the Aquanura pond. Guests of the Efteling Grand Hotel have two options. They can either go through a gate exclusive to them which takes them through the fairy tale forest or they can go through the Arcade and turn right before the railway. Guests of the Efteling Wonder Hotel also have a direct access point. Since people are often unaware I've tried to mark the entrances you should aim for (black line ⬛) on the map to the right. Routes from the accommodations (blue line 🟦) to the rides that are currently on the open early list (blue dots)🔵, and where the closed gates are 🚫 (red lines🟥) on this map as a helpful overview. Let me know if I missed any closed gates. Currently the rides on the list are: Fata Morgana 🕌 Max & Moritz 🤪 Baron 1896 ⚒️ Vogel Rok 🦅 Archipel Carnaval Festival 🎉 Villa Volta 🏠 Droomvlucht 🧚 This list can change so check the Efteling's website for the current list. Or under your booking in the app it should say which attractions are available on the day. Or on the TV in your accommodation. If an attraction is undergoing maintenance they may open another to make up for it. |
|
The Efteling lets daily visitors in 1 hour before the park officially opens through the main park gate.
Opening hours vary through out the year so check the official opening hours for the date of your visit. Marked on the map with an green line 🟩 is where a special opening ceremony with Pardoes takes place every day. |
|
|
|
People are let in in order to buy some souvenirs (remember Souvenir Express) at Efteldingen or Arcadeau or a pastry 🥐 and a coffee ☕ at Fabula savannebar or Cafe Biscuit before the gates to the rest of the park open so the gates around the Pardoes promenade are all shut. 🚫 (red lines🟥)
This section (highlighted in yellow 💛 on the map) is open to everyone one hour before the park officially opens. Note that you can't buy food or drink anywhere else in the park before the park officially opens. |
|
Loonsche Land & Bosrijk guests can enter the park through the main gate like everyone else or the side gate marked in black on the map.
Once through that gate Loonsche Land, Bosrijk are to take the sneaky roundabout way around the Aquanura pond until they reach the railway tracks marked in black on the map. Efteling Grand Hotel accommodation guests turn right after going through the Arcade gate and follow the railway line. Or they can go through their own exclusive entrance which leads into the Fairy tale forest. |
|
|
|
At the railway tracks there should be some staff checking your tickets 🎟.
They will let accommodation guests through half an hour before the park officially opens. In this way accommodation guests have access to most of the rest of the park but only a few rides 🎢 half an hour before the park officially opens. Sometimes there are detours due to construction. If you have any trouble just look for the signs or a staff member. |
Because you can't go through the middle of the park you have to go a bit of a long roundabout ways to get to Marerijk (Droomvlucht 🧚♂️🧚♀️& Villa Volta🏠) but at least you have the option.
Loonsche Land - 12-18 min walk to special side entrance, 5 min walk to the first available attraction-
Bosrijk - 7-16 min walk to special side entrance, 5 min walk to the first available attraction-
You could also use it as an opportunity to be one of the first in line to queue at any of the other rides that are not yet open to you.
To get to Droomvlucht from the Efteling Grand Hotel you can cut through the fairy tale forest using the exclusive Grand Hotel park entrance.

The Efteling Wonder Hotel has its own entrance marked in black at the top of the map.
Staff will let accommodation guests through this entrance half an hour before the park officially opens. This means it technically has the shortest and easiest path to get into the park at the start of the day and the location makes it easier to be the first ones to get to Droomvlucht 🧚♂️🧚♀️& Villa Volta🏠. |

Though this means you'd have to walk all the way to the main entrance if you wanted a coffee ☕ 🥐. It also means that if you watch Aquanura or CARO at the end of the day you have to walk all the way back through the park to the Efteling Hotel entrance. This information used to be communicated via the travel documents they used to post 💌 out to us in advance of our stay. It may still show up on the TV 📺 in your accommodation so check that for the most recent info. |
