ParkThe Efteling was first and foremost a park. It remains famous for it's natural beauty and is well maintained by the park's gardeners.
It's wonderful biodiversity is carefully nurtured. In 2016 the National Garden Bird Count counted 92 different species of birds in the park. Common birds such as robins, blackbirds, moorhens, wild ducks, jackdaws and great tits. but also more rare species such as barn swallow, yellow wagtail, spotted flycatcher, meadow pipit, house sparrow, house martin and linnet, fieldfare, willow tit, sandpiper, eurasian tree sparrow, icterine warbler, eurasian skylark, eurasian hobby, green woodpecker and european turtledoves. The Efteling keeps careful track of its populations of birds, butterflies, dragonflies, squirrels, hedgehogs and bats. The Efteling carefully supports this population with nest boxes and feeders. |
