Hoogmoed (Hubris)

As we all know "pride (hubris) comes before a fall."

On 1st May 2026 the Efteling will open it's new attraction. Three brand new drop towers with the same theme as Baron 1898.

Instead of a mine worker you will be one of the daring chimney sweeps responsible for keeping the stack clear at Baron Hoogmoed's smelting works where the gold is processed.

Unlike Baron 1898 this attraction will be available to those over 90 cm in height.
The attraction has a capacity of 600 guests per hour. 
  • Hoogmoed is a drop tower with a free fall of 9.5 metre.
  • You must be at least 90 cm tall in order to ride.
  • May close in bad weather.

  • Not suitable for pregnant women​

​​Accessibility

Each lift tower includes a seat that has been specially adapted for visitors with disabilities.
​A transfer from a wheelchair to the seat is required.​Hooghmoed is not for guests with heart conditions and/or back injuries.
